Can someone recommend the best chemical product line to use with above ground swimming pools?

There are so many brands out there: Baquacil; hTh; Sustain; Guard X. I know there are more but I do not know all the names.
Is one product line better than another?
Is there one that will not be harsh on your pool liner and filter?
If you do not like one product line can you just switch to another?
Can you mix and match products from one line with another line?
There are several questions with this one please be sure to answer them all. thanks.

My dad works for Bioguard, a pool chemical supplier. I will ask him these questions and as soon as he replies, I will edit this question.
